DIY repairs course

David Daly took part in our customer DIY course and is enjoying putting his new skills to good use in his home.

The DIY course was launched to encourage tenants carry out simple repairs for themselves.

We invited customers who were high users of our responsive repairs service to take part and fifteen people attended the course run by community DIY skills charity, Latch.
They were given a basic tool box and received a £100 shopping voucher if no repairs were reported over the following 12 months.

During this time, the amount of repairs reported by the customers involved dropped by over half, equal to a saving of £8,000.

The course had a positive impact on customers and many are now carrying out their own DIY projects with their new skills. Leeds Fed will be running more courses in the future.
