New homes in the Arthingtons

Linda has moved into one of six new homes in Arthington Place after a long wait for social housing.

The properties replaced poor quality terraces which were demolished to make way for the new development.

Leeds Fed plans to build more houses to help meet the need for affordable housing. In 2014/15 we bought or built 24 homes for social and affordable rent, and 13 shared ownership properties to help people get on the housing ladder.

By April 2016, we plan to deliver another 49 homes for rent and shared ownership. Construction work is underway on homes at Yarn Street in Hunslet and we have applied for planning permission to build 28 homes in Belle Isle.

The Homes and Communities Agency have approved grant funding for us to build up to 40 homes under its Affordable Homes Programme 2015/18. Building work on the first homes funded by this scheme will start at Coniston Gardens, Halton, in October 2015.

We are committed to providing high quality housing that people are happy to call their home.
